DRAGON BLUE

Halles Architektur ist figurenreich. Fabelwesen, Pferde, Kühe, Löwen und Drachen wachen über der Stadt. Aus diesen Wesen formuliert Orestia Kapidani einen neuen überraschenden Zyklus.
Alle Blätter sind Cyanotypien, Salzpapierbilder, richtig gemacht unendlich haltbar und immer blau. Jedes Blatt ist ein Unikat, denn es gelingt nicht, wenn man mit dem Pinsel die lichtempfindliche Chemie auf das Papier aufbringt, zwei gleiche Abzüge herzustellen.
Eine, wie ich finde, heitere und geheimnisvolle Bilderwelt.

BLUE DRAGON

The Architecture of the city Halle is rich in statuettes. Mythical creatures, horses, cows, lions and dragons are keeping their watch over the city. Orestia Kapida creates a new surprising cycle from those creatures. All sheets are cyanotypes, salt prints, that, if handled properly, stay forever and are continuously blue. Each print is a unicum since it is impossible to create two exact copies when the photo-sensitive chemical is applied to the sheets by using a brush. An amusing and, as i find mysterious imagery.
